KATIE & JONATHAN’S WESTIN HILTON HEAD ISLAND WEDDING


Katie and Jonathan’s wedding at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa was colorful, thoughtfully designed, and filled with personal details. From their oceanfront ceremony to live guest portraits during the reception, the entire celebration felt polished without losing the personality that made it theirs.


A BEAUTIFULLY PLANNED HILTON HEAD WEDDING

Sutlan + Co. Events and Lowcountry Weddings by Niki planned the day from beginning to end. Everything ran smoothly, giving Katie and Jonathan the chance to be present and enjoy the celebration with their family and friends.


The day began with Katie and her bridesmaids getting ready together. Bride’s Side Beauty handled hair and makeup for the entire group, making sure everyone was ready before the ceremony began. Alongside the photography coverage, The Wedding Wingwoman captured the day as Katie and Jonathan’s content creator, from the behind-the-scenes moments while getting ready to the celebration later that night.


Months before the wedding, Katie and Jonathan buried a bottle of bourbon whiskey on the beach at The Westin. This Southern wedding tradition is said to help ward off rain and was such a fun way to mark the lead-up to their wedding day.


A CEREMONY OVERLOOKING THE BEACH

Katie and Jonathan’s ceremony took place on The Westin’s oceanfront deck, with the dunes and beach stretching out behind them. The day was bright and beautiful, and the ocean breeze made the outdoor setting feel exactly right.


Jason LaPorte Music played as guests arrived and continued throughout the ceremony. With live music, an ocean view, and their family and friends gathered around them, the deck was a beautiful place for Katie and Jonathan to exchange their vows. Jason continued playing during cocktail hour as everyone celebrated before heading into the reception.


THE FLORALS AND RENTALS

The florals by Gardenias HHI were one of the standout details of the day. The arrangements brought so much color and texture into the space while still complementing the coastal setting.


Rentals from EventWorks and Nuage Designs tied the entire design together. The colors chosen for the linens and tabletop pieces matched the florals perfectly. Nothing felt separate or out of place. The flowers, rentals, and smaller details all looked like they were designed as one complete vision.


THE DETAILS THAT FELT LIKE THEM

Each guest received a custom coaster with their name on it that also served as their seating tag. It was a personal detail that helped complete the tables while giving guests something to take home.


Katie and Jonathan also brought plenty of their personality into the reception. They cut their Publix cake with a Star Wars lightsaber, and their cat made an appearance on the dance floor in the form of a giant Fathead cutout.


Paintings N Stuff LLC created live portraits of the guests throughout the reception. At the end of the night, everyone was able to take home a hand-painted portrait of themselves. It was such a thoughtful favor and gave guests something truly personal to remember the day by.


THE RECEPTION

EYN Entertainment kept the dance floor full throughout the reception. Between the lightsaber cake cutting, the cat cutout, and the energy on the dance floor, the evening had no shortage of candid moments.


The reactions, laughter, movement, and interactions between guests are always some of my favorite parts of a wedding to photograph. Katie and Jonathan’s celebration had plenty of all four.


It was an honor to photograph their Westin Hilton Head Island wedding and document the details and moments that made the day theirs.
